Work Experience:

System One Corporation

 -        I currently support the IN CISO with all IT security issues relating to the Intel group within the Department and serve as an ISSO for 4 information systems.  I assist with detection, protection, and remediation duties for all cyber incidents. I manage all SNORT, SourceFire, Tenable Security Center, and Cisco IDS devices. I work to provide up-to-date signature deployment and maintain IDS/IPS equipment.

-        I currently hold a TS/SCI clearance with the DOE and Intel community.

-        I gather and aggregate IDS data for dissemination and reporting for all DOE IN systems.

-        I am in charge of all data destruction and asset disposal for classified and non-classified IN systems.

-        I currently run scans of all IN networks for asset, vulnerability, and cyber threat assessments.

-        I plan and develop security requirements using NIST and DISA guidelines for certification and accreditation and perform ongoing assessments and audits.

-        I develop System Security plans and implement and test them in accordance with the current government regulations according to NIST SP 800 series and DCID guidelines.

Telesis Corporation

 -        I currently support the Deputy CISO with all IT security issues relating to the Department.  I assist with detection, protection, and remediation duties for all cyber incidents. I currently oversee SNORT, SourceFire, Cisco IDS and MARSE devices as well as maintain the Ethernet taps to feed the DHS Einstein system. I work to provide up-to-date signature deployment and maintain the malicious DNS domain list.

-        Designed and implemented the Remedy “Cyber Incident reporting module”, a custom application added to the existing Remedy system for reporting and tracking cyber security incidents. I am the designated SME for this application.  This application tracks all security incidents and reports to the US Cert as needed.

-        Assisted in the migration of data from the old ESP incident reporting systems.  Data was migrated from the old platform in the new Remedy system.  I did the data export and import along with testing to validate the data.

-        Liaison between DOT and other Intel agencies for cyber security of the Department. To include the FBI, NSA, and DHS.

-        Planned and installed Secure Elements Class-5 server product, with both Compliance and Auditor features for the Departments HSPD-12 FDCC compliance.  I am the designated SME for this product. 

Dell Computer Corporation

Operations Center Manager. (Currently PTE on weekends as Sr. Analyst)

I ran the DOT ENOC, which is a 24/7/365 operations center to deal with all DOT related issues.  My staff of 22 people operated in 2 redundant locations to monitor, analyze, and record all incidents to the DOT IT infrastructure and track them through resolution.  We performed root cause analysis and assisted with problem management and control as well as QA assurance.  I also assisted the PMO as a facilitator and project coordinator.  Of all the DOT service groups, the DOT ENOC performed at 140% from what our IV&V report states.

Senior Integration/Telecom Specialist, Cisco CM installer.

Installed a Cisco Call Manager VOIP telephone system (v4.x) for the client at their new corporate headquarters in Richmond, VA.  After the installation I assisted the migration and move effort to the new HQ facility (about 1500 users).  The all Cisco solution included redundant DS3 lines and remote Call managers at 40 field office locations.

Senior Integration Specialist, TSM Backup administrator, Network Engineer.

Maintained and ran the backup operations for the Akin Gump account.  Their environment included an EMC SAN consisting of 30+ TB of data that was to be backed up every evening from 7pm to 7am.  I trained and supported the backup team in Plano, TX where the customer's data was sent to the Perot leveraged TSM environment.  We had many Wintel and TSM issues and cross platform compatibility issues to deal with daily.  The TSM environment was run on IBM AIX, the customer's data came from Windows2000/2003 and Novell systems. My staff consisted of 9 members reporting directly to me.(Tier1 and Tier2)

Worked as a Wintel Engineer to design, install, support, and maintain many customer environments throughout the DC area.  The largest project I worked on was the migration of the US PTO to their new facility in Alexandria, VA.  I worked on the install and support part of the contract, as the design was part of the original RFP.  We implemented said plan to the customer's satisfaction.
